about
Alejandra Diemecke has been playing violin since age four. Brought up by two classical musicians, Alejandra takes the technical elements of classical violin and fuses them with rock and folk music to create a style of violin playing that is uniquely hers. Alejandra plays and sings in local band The Ilium Works and has collaborated with artists like Janet Batch and Jen Cork. When she is not rocking out she can be found teaching the Suzuki Method she was brought up on to children in Corning New York and at Ithaca Waldorf School.
“Working on hiphoptical was really cool because it continued to expand the variety of styles I've played. I've never had my violin be re worked and layered on top of itself the way it was in HipHoptical, and the kind of grooviness that came with that was really new and exciting.”
